Some of Our Services

  • Initial Oral Exam

Your child's first visit to our office is very important with regard to establishing their oral health baseline. We will begin by carefully reviewing medical and dental histories and taking special note of all dental concerns, as well as any symptoms that your child may be experiencing.

We take pride in creating and maintaining beautiful and healthy smiles for our younger patients in an environment that is lighthearted and fun. We focus on establishing oral health habits that last a lifetime, with education and prevention as our primary tools.

  • Preventive Dental Care

Tooth decay is the most chronic childhood disease in our country. According to studies, children with poor oral health are more than three times as likely to miss school due to dental pain. While these statistics are alarming, the good news is that tooth decay is for the most part preventable. Scheduling regular checkups and cleanings for your child at the dentist is essential for maintaining their oral health. Beyond routine dental care, your dental care professional will help your child establish the best oral hygiene homecare regimen to help maintain their smile for a lifetime. They will also provide dietary guidance as to which foods can be harmful to their smiles. As added protection against dental decay periodic fluoride treatments to strengthen the enamel in their new teeth and the application of dental sealants when their permanent molars come into place are recommended.

  • Braces

Braces are a type of dental orthodontic used to straighten and align teeth. There are several types of braces that dentist’s offices use, and all of them can be easily applied depending on the patient’s individual preferences. Invisalign clear braces, traditional metal braces, and lingual braces, or braces that can be applied behind the teeth, are a few of the different types. The goal of orthodontics is to gently align teeth over a period of time. Most braces take up to a year or more to achieve the level of straightening needed. Braces work by applying continual pressure to move teeth into place. As the teeth slowly move, the bone changes shape due to the pressure. Traditional braces use brackets, screws and bands to tighten the braces. Arch wires are attached to the brackets, acting as a guide to move the teeth into their correct positions.

Clear braces are beneficial to patients who want them to be less obvious. Clear braces like Invisalign can be taken in and out for events, pictures and brushing and flossing. This may be attractive to those who want a low-key way to straighten teeth, without the hardware that traditional braces come with. Braces also work well for those with a bite problem, such as a misaligned bite. This may mean they suffer from an underbite or an overbite. The dentist will prescribe an appliance that is specific to each patient’s needs, depending on the severity and type. Braces do an excellent job of aligning teeth.

  • Invisalign

Invisalign® is a form of orthodontic treatment that works to correct many different types of malocclusions through the use of a series of clear plastic trays called aligners. In many cases it provides an excellent treatment alternative to having traditional orthodontic braces and metal wires.

Invisalign utilizes 3-D computer imaging technology to correct problematic bites or malocclusions by planning a complete sequence of custom-made clear aligners. This series of clear aligners, each of which is worn for a couple of weeks, incrementally move the teeth into place until the final desired corrections are reached.

The advantage and appeal of invisalign appliances is that they are more cosmetic and more comfortable than most other orthodontic appliances. With Invisalign appliances orthodontic treatment is practically “invisible.”

  • Sedation Dentistry

When children are scared, have strong gag reflexes, medical conditions, special needs, or are unable to sit for one reason or another, varying levels dental sedation can carefully be administered to aid in relaxation and allow dental care to be performed. Depending on the particular needs of each child, the pedodontist will suggest the best method of dental sedation. There are several options in dental sedation available for your child including inhalation sedation such as nitrous oxide (laughing gas), oral sedatives, IV sedation, as well as general anesthesia performed in the appropriate setting for particular procedures or circumstances. Each of these options has special considerations, which will be explained in greater detail before your child’s dental procedure is scheduled.

Testimonials

Heading there again this morning and it's great knowing that my daughter doesn't dread or fear going! She actually talked about it all morning and was excited. I can't thank the staff enough for their advice and their care. They really make my four year old feel safe and even like she is the one in control of the situation all while getting her to do what they need to get the job done and it's awesome to watch their hands on approach. They are SUPER kid friendly, singing, dancing, rhyming...you name it. I would recommend this place to anyone with kids especially those who are terrified of the doctors or dentist office.
